Quilting 101 - Winter 2026

Join us for a six-week beginning quilt-making course lead by the talented Karen Driessen. You will learn to piece up to nine different blocks which can then be used to construct a table topper or small-size quilt top. During the first class, we will be covering basic sewing machine operation, use of a rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat, and quarter-inch seam tips. You will also have time to select and cut fabric for your blocks.

Class Refund Policy

 

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your class enrollment, please note the following:

 

Full Refund: Cancellations made 14 days or more before the class start date will receive a full refund.

 

Store Credit: Cancellations made within 14 days of the class start date will receive store credit only.

 

No-Shows: No refunds or credits will be issued for no-shows.

 

Instructor Cancellations: If Wildflower Quilt Co. must cancel a class for any reason, students will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to a future class.

 

Transfer Option: If space allows, students may transfer their registration to another class with advance notice.

 


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Class Size: Limited to eight students to allow for an intimate, hands-on experience.
Requirements: Materials Needed: 1. Cutting mat, rotary cutter, two rulers: 6.5” X 24” and a smaller square ruler 8.5 X 8.5. 2. Pins, fabric scissors, marking pen pencil and chalk marker. Seam ripper. 3. Note paper for notes and a small pack of “post it” notes 4. Sewing machine (in working order), one thread neutral color of white, beige, grey, bobbins, 5. 1/4 inch presser foot that fits your machine 6. Fabric: at least 5-6 (1/2 yard different coordinating colors, solids and/or prints. Bring your fabric to the first night class: ***5-6 (1/2 yard) pieces of fabric is a good start. Additional 3/4 yard piece of a solid to use as background in some of the blocks and as foundation for the two appliqué blocks. Variety of solids and prints with contrast, some light, some medium-dark colors. Can be prints and solids or can be all solids.
